25/01/2010 		Penny has transformed the side return, with reflecting pools and wonderful paving and planting, making this a very special area of the garden rather then a dull corridor. She has also ensured that my north facing front garden is simple and modern as well as pretty - the envy of the neighbours, in fact! She was a pleasure to work with, working with my ideas, adding her own and melding everything together. And the team she uses for the construction are also first class. They custom made for me the perfect (but possibly rather eccentric) garden shed to my exact requirements.

a challenging brief

09/12/2009 		We already had a lovely garden but about half of it was about to be ruined by alterations to our garage.  Penny was realistic about which plants we would lose during the building works, and produced a design which worked with the new different levels in the garden.  This meant a lot of coordination with the numerous people working on site which she did patiently with visits when required.  Kiwi Landscapes did an excellent job on the hard landscaping and then Penny returned some months later to plant the garden taking into consideration a lot of complicated demands from the owners!  Thank you Penny.

finished off the house perfectly

31/05/2009 		Like most people, the garden was our last project in doing up our house. All I can say is that pound for pound it was probably the best money we spent. It was extremely good value but has completely changed the whole outlook of the house. It has a wonderful modern but very peaceful feel about it. Exactly what we wanted and a pleasure to sit out in....or look at from the inside....especially when it is lit up in the dark.

14/05/2009 		Penny is so talented, she has a great eye for colour and created a fabulous seaside garden for us. This meant lots of research into the right plants that would thrive, and a lot of planning. She came up with great ideas, great looks and we are delighted with everything, from our new orchard to our waving bamboos and statuesque agapanthus. Thank you Penny for your hardwork and your great ideas, we were so happy on Sunday sitting in the midst of it all.

11/05/2009 		I wouldn't hesitate in using Penny to design your garden.  She is incredibly efficient and gets back to you very quickly.  I gave her a rough idea of what I wanted the garden to look like and she came up with a design that was pretty much exactly how I had imagined my ideal garden to look!  We went for a country/floral/soft look and it really is a pleasure looking out onto it everyday and seeing the different flowers coming up throughout the year.  She has lots of ideas and her knowledge of plants is very impressive.  Because her website is very informative, it makes it clear in your mind of the type of style you might want to go for.

The garden now does just what we hoped.  Penny took care to understand our original requirements, and help us along the way, and also sourced a couple fo lovely trees for us.

Penny Litchfield has just completed work....
17/02/2008 Penny Litchfield has just completed work on my garden & I am absolutely delighted with the result which has been transformational! Penny really listened & took on board what I was aiming to achieve - her approach is extremely client focused. Penny generated a range of options for me to select from, all of which achieved what I had asked for; I felt I had choices without my original brief being left by the wayside. The combination of Penny's expertise combined with her ability to understand what her client is really after works brilliantly. I never had to chase Penny up - she was extremely proactive & completed the project ahead of schedule & on budget. The whole experience was completely stress free - not something you can often say when home improvement is involved! I can't recommend Penny highly enough.

We engaged Penny to design us a Japanese
16/05/2007 We engaged Penny to design us a Japanese garden. She spent time with us to understand exactly what we wanted and produced a great design, which she then managed the implementation of. It arrived on time and slightly under original budget and is a delight. I would unhesitatingly recommend her to others.

We really do love the garden
22/02/2007 We really do love the garden and were determined to have coffee and papers in it on Sunday morning despite it being 10 degrees. It is definitely the best thing we've done so far and the least stressful. We're really pleased with how your design worked out - its exactly what we wanted except better! I think its really going to improve the quality of our lives no end - I can't wait for the Summer.

Dry garden and dog friendly?
20/06/2006 Dry garden and dog friendly"I thought that it would be a difficult brief but Penny came up with a real winner!!The whole experience from start to finish was a pleasure. From the design to actually seeing the garden come alive and looking as good as the original drawing. Penny and her team were fantastic very professional, polite and worked extremely hard. Given a day to transform the mud bath that was my garden into a superb "dry garden" for me and my dogs to enjoy

The result was a marriage surrounded by wonderful planting - and universal admiration from friends and family alike. Penny listened to our requests and managed to incorporate them into an imaginative yet also practical plan. Her team were friendly and efficient and had the whole job completed in a matter of days.

Penny Litchfield is a gardening wonder.
Penny Litchfield is a gardening wonder. From the half dozen designers we talked to she was the only one who we thought was sufficiently inspired. imaginative, flexible and good natured to do exactly what we needed - design a spectacular garden in our 50ft space and avoid bankruptcy. She produced a selection of wonderful drawings, held our hands all the way through the project, selected beautiful plants, a huge range of lovely natural materials, wood, stone, water and gave great advice. This Chiswick based gardener is a true joy to work with. Cannot recommend her services highly enough.
