Cellar makeover

16/05/2012 		Having seen the work Gerry and his team did on my neighbours cellar, I decided that I would have the same makeover in mine.  It only took two days and he transformed my damp, dank, dusty and dirty cellar into almost a thing of beauty (comparitively speaking).  He cleaned it up, coated the walls with sealant then plastered the walls and floor creating a clean, smooth damp proof layer.

In addition he installed made to measure shelving along three walls to increase storage capacity, put in a hand rail and made the rickety, wobbly steps into the cellar safe and secure.  Finally, he strengthened the ceiling along the full length of the cellar.  He and his team were cheerful and obliging, arrived on time and left without any mess.  They even brought their own hoover to finish off.
Highly recommended.

House Renovation

Gerry, Norbert, Harry and team are highly skilled and provide a totally professional and friendly service.   We started with sorting out a loft conversion that another firm had messed up and step-by-step have renovated the whole house – finishing with rebuilding the conservatory.    They arrive on time, work hard, and achieve a high level of finish.  They also clear up after themselves. All is done with good discussion and interaction as well as humour throughout the process.  They bring original ideas and solutions to the job (as their company name suggests).  I trust Gerry’s judgement and am happy to leave the project management to him along with the key to the house.  Highly recommended.

Replastering Bedroom Walls

04/10/2011 		Having stripped a room's walls of wallpaper, a new plastering job was required in order to smooth out the surfaces before repainting. Gerry's quote was the best I received (of 3). He and his team worked quickly, mostly cleanly, and the extra, unforeseen work he did was reasonably charged. The resulting plasterwork was satisfactory and I have no hesitation in recommending Gerry and his team.

New Ceiling

26/09/2011 		Came back from a weekend away to find a large area of our old lath ceiling on the floor. Called Gerry on the Monday was around within the hour with a solution and price. Dispite being very busy managed to agree a mutual convenient date to reboard and skim the entire ceiling which was done on the agreed date, at the agreed price and to very high standard.

Gerry - our saviour!

25/09/2011 		We found Gerry and his team through this website shortly after buying our first home together. We had discovered extensive damp and many other issues not picked up during the survey and we were understandably worried, upset and feeling very lost. From the first dealings with AMG to the last we couldn’t have asked for better builders. The team were sympathetic and supportive of our plight offering clear explanations of what needed doing and why. Work was completed rapidly and was of the highest quality; our newly plastered walls are as smooth as glass, woodwork is perfectly square and the decoration faultless.  

Prior to finding AMG we had employed an electrician and bought a new kitchen to replace the one that was destroyed accessing the damp walls. Gerry took on the role of project manager and he co-ordinated with the other contractors beautifully, ensuring that the work was finished and we could move in earlier than we expected. Gerry even called in a favour from a friend to get us a great deal on carpet. We are a working couple and met Gerry on site on the way to work in the morning where he had a list of questions ready to ask and we then rarely heard from him during the day allowing us to get on with our busy working lives. We checked in on the property some evenings and everything was tidy and organised.  

If I could highlight one reason above all for such a glowing review of their work it was their sheer honesty. The quote came in and was a very fair price but, in truth for the quality of the work and service we received the price was cheap. We ended up increasing the specification of the job and then when we got the final bill the increased charges were minimal; they never tried it on as some contractors might. We agreed a price that excluded materials and Gerry insisted on showing us receipts for all materials.

Gerry and the team have since worked for family who also hold their work in the highest regard. If you are looking for any sort of building, plastering or trade work to be done give AMG a call right now, it was the single best move we made and we couldn’t be happier with any aspect of our dealings with AMG. Thank you once again guys!

Great service, great people!

08/01/2011 		I contacted Gerry about plastering some walls.  He came round very promptly and gave me a good quote.  He took lots of time to give decent advice about how to achieve the best finish.  I had a few problems with other workman then shifting work schedules, which stressed me out...  but Gerry was totally unfazed and changed his diary to suit me.  The quality of the work is excellent - Everything was delivered as promised and on time, and it was left clean and tidy afterwards.  Gerry and Harry are a great team - we had a real laugh, and I was genuinely impressed with their work.  I heartily recommend them, and would not think twice about employing them again.  I also now know they do other building work beyond plastering, so I'll use them for other jobs too!!!

18/12/2010 		We contacted Gerry on Sunday afternoon after our ceiling collapsed leaving a horrible mess - he called within a couple of hours of my email, visited on Monday and explained exactly what needed to be done and gave us a quote  (which seemed very reasonable) and they completed the job on Thursday. They clearly take a lot of pride in their work (justified) and have done a superb job. They were pleasant and respectful of our home and took great care to clear up afterwards. We're really grateful and I'd recommend them 100%. An absolute gem - and thanks to all those who recommended him previously $0

professional workmanship

The result looks great and the expert plasterers managed to retain the original mouldling at the edges. They even painted the room and left everything tidy. I will definitely be using Gerry again.

FANTASTIC WORKMANSHIP

01/01/2009 		If you want quality workmanship done in a timely fashion, look no further. I used this very website to find a plasterer as I wanted all my walls and a couple of ceilings re-plastered and that's how I found Gerry. I received 3 quotes for the work, but Gerry was the only person who invited me to his workmaship. That along with his competitive price sealed the deal.  They said they would take 4 days and they did. I was so impressed with the work (as was my electrician) that I asked Gerry and the guys to return to do the painting and decorating. Other than a dodgy plumber, I had great success with all the trademen, but Gerry and the guys were tops. Gerry and the guys were always on time, friendly and tidied up each day. I trusted them completely in the flat and they didn't disappoing. I highly recommend their services. Thanks so much guys.

12/11/2008 		After having some bad experience with some builders, I was given Gerry's number by a friend.  He came and quoted to soundproof my flat and plaster all walls and ceilings.  Gerry's advice on how to resolve the problems we had was invaluable.  They started work a few days later.  The finised work is like glass and all the problems we had with the neibhbours above has been resolved.   They cleaned up well after themselfs.  I cannot say enough about Gerry and his team.  I would, and have already recomended them to others.

07/11/2008 		UNSATIFIED with this company’s service as quick to take you money but do not return calls or emails when there is a problem. I used Gerry as he advise me to have my ceilings soundproofed which would stop all the nosie problems I had from the flat upstairs. I paid £3300 for there service to find that this did not resolve my issue. After my first complaint they never answered any calls or returned my voicemails and when I finally got a email response I was told they were busy!!! Not acceptable when they advised it was resolve a problem that it clearly did not as I would not of had the work done. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

Very flexible, friendly and good value p....
29/03/2007 Very flexible, friendly and good value producting an excellent finish, just as I wanted and a day early - Would certainly recommend and use again. I live on the top floor of a block of flats with a flat roof. I had a problem with condensation due to having no insulation in the roof. This made it cold and damp in the winter. AMG put in insulation below the concrete roof (kingspan insulation) with plasterboard skimmed to finish. You can't tell it has been done. They were flexible to method (room by room so we could live in the flat that week) and finished a day early. My flat is transformed, warmer in the winter with no condenstation causing unsightly mould and lower fuel bills! It also should be much cooler in the summer as the roof acted as a giant radiator during the evenings, this insulation will also stop that!

An excellent job from start to finish.......
14/09/2006 An excellent job from start to finish... Whilst looking for a reputable tradesman to re-plaster my flat I stumbled upon the www.ChiswickW4.com website where in excess of 50 people had posted comments praising one plastering firm - AM&G. Happily I can confirm that I found every single one of these lovely comments to be true after I contacted Gerry and his team. The team were punctual, finished every job to the highest of standards and were a pleasure to have in the flat. On top of that, they were also exceptionally clean and tidy, and after three days of plastering work (including pulling down an old plaster & lathe ceiling) the only evidence that they had been were silky smooth walls and ceilings. I would have no hesitation in using them again or recommending them to others.

Fantastic service from a really friendly....
22/04/2006 Fantastic service from a really friendly and professional team. I left them alone in my house to complete work on 3 occasions and have no complaints at all. Very honest and reliable (and punctual!) and the finish they achieved on my walls and ceilings is amazing. They also took away all the rubbish that was created on the job and made very little mess.(there is always some with plastering) Highly recommended.

These guys are fantastic! I had made a mess of my ceiling and walls using PolyCell 'Smooth over' and they came in and made everything right. Really great guys, no mess. I am having them back to do more work soon

01/02/2005 We desperately needed a new bathroom. Gerry not only did a great job on replastering the whole bathroom but helped us find reliable local people that could help us with the plumbing and tiling. Within 2 weeks of Gerry coming round we had a new bath suite fitted, pipes relaced, the walls replastered and tiling done, when local DIY stores were giving us a timeframe of 14 weeks. We are very grateful to Gerry and his contacts for helping us.

02/11/2004 Got Gerry's name from this site, he came the next day (none of the other plasterers I phoned even called me back), gave me a quote on the spot, started work the following morning and was done and dusted a day and a half later! Really speedy response, room looks amazing, Gerry was on time, very friendly and obviously takes pride in his work. I'm a DIY-clueless-woman and find it difficult to know how to get reliable specialists who won't rip you off - Gerry is trustworthy and the price was fair.

The standard of his work was extremely high and included a tricky uneven ceiling job. Highly recommended.

31/05/2004 Gerry turned up promptly, gave a reasonable quote and started work almost immediately. Gerry and his team take extrodinary pride in their work and ensured that all work was done to an incredibly high standard and by the deadline despite being hindered by appaling walls hidden by 100 years worth of linning paper and a ceiling that needed to be completely ripped down and redone. I cannot speak highly enough of Gerry and his team. A team whose work lived up to the sales pitch.

A great job from start to finish - good advice, friendly people, dealt with my ever-changing timescales to fit in with a full redecoration with no fuss and no nasty surprises at the end. Not the cheapest you will find locally but if you want quality then Gerry should be who you call first.

05/04/2004 Gerry and his team were fantastic. He came out when he said he would, gave a quote and agreed to start 2 weeks after (very reasonable for a plasterer). He turned up at 7am as promised and got to work. The complicated job took all day till 5pm but was done beautifully. They tideied up most of the mess after and even mopped my kitchen floor! Not only were they a great laugh but they did a fantastic job and did it on time for a good price. They had to put up with my housemate and I wandering around all day but in good spirits they moved ladders and planks of wood whenever we needed to get past. Great guys, reasonable price and beautiful work. There is a bit of plaster on the carpets and walls, but nothing unexpected. Thanks boys - you've been great. Shame their tip for the Grand National wasn't so good! :-)

Gave me a reasonable estimate - and then done excellent work in an awkward schaped kitchen. The finish is superb. He also finished ahead of schedule. I would have no hesitation recommending him.

We have just had our kitchen and lounge ceilings plastered and walls skimmed by Gerry and his team, and are very pleased with the work. Gerry was quick to give us a quote, we went to see some of his work and we didn't have to wait long for our work to be done. Lovely smooth finish, ready to paint, makes such a difference to the rooms.

Very poor! Gerry and team skimmed and pl....
Very poor! Gerry and team skimmed and plastered our whole house. Although the generally did a good service, after we had made the final payment, we noticed some sections that were not completed properly. We asked Gerry to pop over to correct and after a week of trying to get through to him he said he was too busy to return!! After paying him over ¢G7,000 for a service he described as perfect, the after sales didn't quite live up to this. It's a shame to say it, but we would definitely not recommend Gerry

Gerry and his colleagues at A, M and G Plastering replastered our living room. The previous plaster was in a very bad state but it only took them 5 hours to do a top quality job with a perfect finish. I think the rate was reasonable for the job(but not cheap). They gave excellent advice on what was necessary (and what wasn't) and did a very professional job, exactly to specification. Where they found one area which was worse than they had expected, they dealt with it professionally, got on with the job and didn't try to find excuses to charge more. From my experience, I would thoroughly recommend A, M and G for plastering.

They plastered the halls of a 3 storey house for me, and rendered a bathroom ready for tiling. Very high quality job, not the cheapest but i think around the best. Clean up was not entirely successful, but if you plaster, you get mess.

Gerry and his team plastered out entire flat and they did thow whole thing in a couple of days - were in an out in no time, arrived on the day they said they would and worked a full day non-stop. They also cleaned up well after themsleves and the results were excellent.

They came quickly, price wasn't cheap bu....
They came quickly, price wasn't cheap but we needed the kitchen plastered asap. We explained the position of units but they still didn't square the walls - the units where 2 inches off the walls. They partially fixed, at extra cost, but units are still 2cm off walls at the bottom and granite upright is also off the wall. 3 months later we have cracks in the ceiling as they didn't tape the plaster boards.

Couldn't believe how prompt the service ....
Couldn't believe how prompt the service was, called and work done in no time at a very competitive price!! Is very considerate about keeping the place clean even though we were redecorating most of the house. Wonderful manner and someone that you feel easy having in the house. Gets on with the job and cleans up after themselves. Have no hestitation in recommending him and he is good at recommending other people from various trades.

Gerry's exuberance made me feel slightly....
Gerry's exuberance made me feel slightly nervous. Would he and his team disappear into the Irish mist (or London smog) like leprechauns, clutching my cheque and leaving me disappointed? Harry, his colleague (calm and serious) reassured me that I would not be. My ceilings were then plastered in two days and I cannot fault their work. They are nice guys and they delivered what they promised. I would definitely use them again and recommend them to other people.

Very disappointed. When Gerry first came to quote he was full of enthusiasm. However when it came time to do the work, he has failed to even return calls for the last several weeks. Would not contact them again.

Gerry and his team plastered our bedroom. Gerry came round promptly to offer a quote and was able to do the job within 2 weeks. He and his team were excellent and did a first class job - they were quick and efficient and generally good value for money. I would definitely recommend them.

I called them for a quote on Wednesday m....
I called them for a quote on Wednesday morning, Gerry came round that evening, and they did the work on Saturday. They said they'd be there at 7am, and they were. The work was very high quality, the cost was what they quoted, and all in all I'd defintely recommend them, and would certainly use them again. Just remember to keep them plied with tea.

Gerry vistited our house for a quote and....
Gerry vistited our house for a quote and although not the cheapest, seemed to know his trade. He said that he could complete the job in 3 days and they actually achieved it in 2 days. They turned up on time and where friendly and trustworthy to have around and even brought there own cups and teabags! The plastering was of a high quality and they also gave some good advice on other tradespeople I needed such as carpenters and plumbers etc. Would use again.

A honest a decent chap, we wanted a second opinion and Gerry came to give a quote on bedroom wall that became damp through a leak. We thought the plaster had 'blown' and needed plastering as advised by a local plasterer. Gerry advised us on how to treat and not to waste our money.
