Only interested in big jobs?

13/02/2012 		I contacted Forster & Co in July for a quote.  Although a bit more expensive than some others we confirmed we’d like to go ahead with it in August due to the great feedback on Chiswick W4.

I was told they were quite busy but could fit us in at the end of September.  Personal circumstances meant I didn't chase but did get an e-mail from them in November to say they had forgotten about us but would find space for us during early December (and wouldn't forget us again).

Its now February and they have forgotten us now twice.  Six months later we need to look for another company that can do the job.  I'm guessing we were forgotten, as we didn't have a big job but unfortunately it means we can't vouch for their service.

08/11/2011 		10 day job, external timber staining and painting of a mock tudor house. Not the cheapest quote but decided to use them on the basis of local references. A team of between 2 and 4 painters worked very hard, they were punctual, polite and tidy, and quality of work very good. I like that they paid attention to health and safety - secure scaffold towers unlike some other painters who said they would use an unsupported ladder on top of the acrylic carport! The only negative thing I have to say is that at 10pm on the night before they were due to start I got a text message saying they couldn't come till after the weekend. Had I taken a day off work for that I would have been extremely annoyed.

31/12/2009 		Forster & co came highly recommended from several sources. Their quote wasn't the cheapest. But, it was the most comprehensive. It was also reasonable, and we liked their attitude. Good choice! They turned up on time, were polite and courteous, left everything tidy each day and, most importantly, completely transformed our house. They stripped all the old paper, plastered, re-lined the ceilings and walls and paimted top to bottom. we have never seen decorators prepare a room so thoroughly. They over-ran by a couple of days, but at no extra charge. We were delighted and would recommend them highly.

Good but not great

07/12/2009 		Very friendly, polite and talented company who provide a good service but evidently need monitoring as some things slip through the gap and don't get picked up by them as they start with great intentions but lack the consistency to follow through and deliver on their promises.Examples of their levels of attention to detail and customer service are text messages being sent fifteen minutes after they asked and arranged to be on site offering the apology that they want the day off, painting over old peeling paper rather than replacing and making good as per their quote, and promising to come back on a Saturday morning and make good a cupboard door that wouldn't close after they had painted it, but given that full payment had been made, they chose to neither turn up, nor phone nor apologise. (Edit – they did turn up the following Monday, unannounced, clearly when it suited them and happy to take the chance that someone would be home.)They appear to be a painting and decorating company that conforms to most of the stereotypes in that they promise John Lewis and deliver Matalan.

He and his painters were very professional and did an exceptional job and he also uses really high quality materials. The price was good and there were no hidden extras (in fact we got a small refund when it turned out that something he quoted for didn't require as much work as he estimated). The end result was beyond our expectations and our neighbours were asking for his number soon afterwards!!

great service and quality

24/09/2009 		Forster and  Co have now done 3 separate jobs for me, 2 indoors and one outside ( External painting of a 5 floor house, front and back) .  All the workers are courteous and prompt, arrive when they say and leave when they say, enabling you to get on with life while they work. All incredibly diligent. Service like that often comes at a price, and they are competitive but not cheap, but in terms of value for money when you take the service and quality into account, they are fantastic.

21/09/2009 		I have used Forster & Co Painter & Decorators many timesover the last 5 years. Every time I am always impressed with their service andtheir rates are very good. They always turn up on time (even at very shortnotice to short out small jobs). They believe in doing the job correctly and ata fair price. They often say we can do that, but it would be better and cheaperto do this. I have never found anybody in the area who could beat them onprice, or service.
