I employed O'Neills Plumbing to install a new boiler in September 2004. At first I was pleased with their prompt response, and friendly service. Now 12 months on, I regret my choice. It took me 9 months trying to get O'Neills to help me to resolve the incessant problem I faced with the boiler, which, because of incorrect installation, kept going out, and failed to reset. Finally, I persuaded British Gas, with whom I have a service contract, to come and try to sort out the problem (earlier they refused to help as they did not install the boiler). They diagnosed that the boiler had been incorrectly plumbed. I reported this to O'Neills, who professed shock and horror, who offered to compensate me (September), and when I wrote to chase them (November - 2 letters) they professed (a) not to have received the first November letter (b) to have sent me a cheque (never arrived), (c)who promised to deliver a cheque (it has never arrived). These people made a mistake with their installation, they failed to remedy the problem, and they failed to provide the compensation they offered to give me. I would not use them again for the following reasons: They did not do their job properly, they failed to diagnose and remedy the problem, they make promises they do not fulfil.
