We wanted to re-decorate both bedrooms in our 2 bedroom flat, as well as a large hallway, and sort out the exterior of all 5 windows which were in a rather sorry state with paint peeling off everywhere (including a large bay window at the front). We decided we didn't have the time and energy (or skills!) to tackle this properly ourselves, so we got various quotes from decorators recommended on this site. Eve's quote was the most competitive by far - to the extent that we were almost a bit nervous about how she was able to undercut other decorators so much. We need not have worried - George and Eve turned up exactly when they said they would, worked hard, kept us informed throughout, kept things very tidy, and offered advice when we weren't sure how best to deal with some of the issues which arise in old properties. The work was done very well and very quickly, and Eve checked we were happy at each stage. Eve was also happy to add on extra bits of work at reasonable and transparent prices, when we decided we wanted extra bits and pieces done - for example, taking up and disposing of old carpets, and re-tiling the hearth of a fireplace in one of the bedrooms - for the tiling, Eve was very helpful in suggesting the best way to tackle this, and George helped me decide between two sets of tiles when I couldn't decide what would look best. Also really appreciated Eve sending me pictures from her phone by e-mail during the day so we could see how things were progressing when they were putting up wallpaper, doing tiling etc - helped keep the nerves at bay when sat at work wondering what the new wallpaper was going to look like! Would thoroughly recommend Eve, and we will definitely try to use her again if we decide to re-decorate the rest of the flat next year!
