28/11/2011 		Used Chris to diagnose and repair our boiler after it stopped working suddenly over the weekend and we are happy with his work.$0$0$0$0He came around the same day as I called, and found the fault easily enough. He then drove to Hanger Lane to attempt to get a replacement part (it turned out to be the wrong part, but that was the shop's fault and he didn't charge us for the time). Once we sourced the part he came and fitted it and its working fine now. He even gave me advice on a simple job I could do myself, which I really appreciated.$0$0$0$0We would recommend him.$0$0

I found him to be very helpful, agreeing to source all the necessary materials required, he provided three various options and costings, as I was unsure what type of tank I required. He works quick and to time - a professional I have no hesitation in recommend him.

19/09/2011 		Chose Chris from good comments on forum, was not disappointed.  He (unlike some) was totally prepared to advise the precise problem with our boiler as opposed to just saying it is old, so we could make our own decision on risk and whether to splash out just yet.  Notwithstanding his quote/recommendations for a replacement were also very good.  The repairs Chris completed have put our boiler back to 100% working order, were undertaken efficiently and at considerably less cost than a replacement.  Many thanks.

Fixed faulty pilot light ignition

22/07/2011 		The pilot light on our Ariston boiler was failing to ignite, all resets etc also not working. Chris happened to be available on the day I called him (got the contact details from this site), and within two hours of arriving he had sourced the faulty part, fixed the boiler, repaired a leak in another part of the boiler that had been around for a few weeks, and pointed me to where I could get the power switch replacement (light had gone). Very relieved that this didn't end up as just a "replace the boiler its a bit old" situation. Very impressed with the service.

Impressive Central Heating Service

20/12/2010 		Following a less than satisfactory service from another well known local plumber called Chris for a 2nd opinion - he quickly diagnosed the problem & within a couple of hours had our central heating up and running. Then, as agreed, he came back a week later to drain the whole system and fit some new valves.  Really recommend CJ's - he comes when he says he will, he tells you how much its going to cost and he then just gets on and does the job without any hassle - perfect!

25/05/2010 		I contacted Chris to come to quote for replacing some corroded central heating pipes and replacing an immersion heater.  He got back to me swiftly and after comparing prices with those of another plumber we decided to use Chris.  We were very satisfied with the work and the fact that the eventual price came in under what had been quoted.  I would definitely use Chris again if we have any more plumbing problems.

Landlords certificate & excellent advice

Capped off an open gas fire and fitted a stopcock to the gas hob in order to comply with the requirements of the landlords gas certificate.  He was also very helpful in suggesting possible options for other work that needs to be done.

Quick, friendly, explained what he was doing and why.  I'll definitely use Chris again.

28/04/2008 Chris came to fix a faulty CH boiler. A few days later it stopped again. He came round, spend a lot of time but couldn't fix it. He came round again, with another idea, still no luck, eventually he diagnosed the fault- after all these visits, he didnt charge me at all, and contacted me a few days later to check all was well. Great dedication & perseverence !

28/07/2006 Chris came to look at my boiler and was polite, punctual and honest - it turned out that the boiler was in perfect working order but I had accidently closed off the gas supply to it! It was very reassuring to know that there are genuine, honest companies around who don't con you you into buying parts that aren't needed. He replaced a faulty syphon assembly in the lavatory cistern in about 90 minutes (including purchase)and improved the water flow on his own initiative. He was clean, helpful, polite, friendly, efficient and good value. What more could you ask?

Charged £65 to fix the shower and said it was the valve so he fixed that but then we were left with little water pressure. Came back promptly to fix the pressure and charged me another £65 because "this time it was the pressure, last time I was here it was to fix the valve". Be careful and check all work

Having had noisy pipes that have woken me almost every day for the past 2 years and having had 10 plumbers visit to say they didn't know what it was or how to fix it or persuade me to buy a new boiler Chris Johns came in to estimate. He straight away said he didn't know what it was but said 2 hours would decide whether it was the boiler or pipes - I went ahead and it was fixed in the hour!

He quoted £450 a day + materials with a straight face sitting opposite me at my kitchen table, for fitting a bathroom over a 4 day period. A few calls got a corgi qualified plumber for less than half that price. A shame as he is compotent but seemingly without logic or a sense of respect for his customers.

Great service from CJ's who provided accurate assessment of what my options were. All the other quotes i got were to install a new boiler which would have been very expensive and i wasn't in a position to fund. As it turned out i just needed a new pump. I'll certainly be calling CJ's again if theres some plumbing needed

Chris came last year and removed a radiator which he did cheaply and quickly. However this year he was very difficult to get hold of and his charges had gone up considerably as I hadn't been able to get hold of him I didn't find out how much it would be until he's done the job and I was horrified at the increase.

You wont see this guy on 'Rogue Traders'! At last someone who knows what they're doing when it comes to plumming. Chris diagnosed the problem with our water tanks, went to get the parts and fixed them in under an hour. Highly recommended.

Was very pleased with Chris's work, after I called him in to replace an ancient boiler. Even when my twenty year old pipes exploded under the floorboards, leaving him with another half day of work, he stuck to the original quote. Best thing is having found a plumber who is happy to help or advise, and will come and sort out problems at a moment's notice. A very rare thing here in London.

Chris was very busy but was very quick to arrive when a few thousand pounds work was mentioned. However, we did get other plumbers in for quotes and ideas in the meantime so by the time he arrived the work was not going to be as expensive. He looked at our water cylinder for a few minutes then turned around to say "this really doesn't grab my attention". Obviously shows what he is after!! Anyway called Dan Dineen eventually who was by far nicer and more knowledgeable.

Feel compelled to comment given the glow
Feel compelled to comment given the glowing reports drove us to Chris. Had very mixed experiences - good at instant fixes, rabbit out of the hat stuff, but for us, on bigger jobs, he caused more problems than he sorted and we ended up getting someone else to fix. Other professionals laughed at some of his corner cutting, and he was by far and away the most expensive plumber I've used.

I can confirm the other positive comments made about Chris Johnson. I had thought that a "reliable plumber" was an oxymoron, but Chris made an appointment, turned up just a few minutes late (and rang in advance to say he would be late) and was competent, courteous and tidy.

Having been told by others that we neede....
Having been told by others that we needed a new heat exchanger, more radiators etc. Chris came and diagnosed the problem as a faulty switch - easy to repair and everything now works great. Highly recommended.

Took two days to replace a leaking radiator - left us without heat overnight as he left the job unfinished - charged us on an hourly rate, watching the time click by - not to be trusted where cost and time are concerned
