Devonshire Glass did change 2 windows in our house at the end of 2011.
The service was extremely disappointing:
- no communication - we had to call to get any information on timings.
- we had asked for a like for like replacement of the former windows; of course like for like is never possible, but Devonshire Glass did decide of all the changes to be made without even thinking of asking us if their solution did suit us
- we did not receive any advice from their part - we asked for double glazed sash window, but Devonshire Glass did not mention that it would mean air leak between the 2 pane of the sash window.
- last but not least the quality of the work was terrible: the builders took twice the time they had promised to take - of course no notice about delays; they did not bother to plaster around the windows, thinking that as we had other work going on in the house, our builders could finish. Though they did bother to charge the price of a fully finished work. When we complained, Devonshire Glass said it was a £50 / 15 minutes job to finish; the builder came back, it took him half a day to produce such a crap plaster that our builder had to take it all off and do it again.- Our walls was bending outwards, and the window was poisitionned in a way that is looked OK at the bottom, but there was a 3cm gap between the mount and the wall at the top. Again, no discussion with us whether this did suit us. and of course no effort to try and fill in the gap.
EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING QUALITY OF WORK AVOID AT ALL COST!
