A centre for Theravada Buddhism, it has five resident monks from Sri Lanka and apart from normal religious activities, runs various classes each week. There is also a meditation retreat on the last Saturday of each month (excluding August and December). The Vihara is registered to hold marriage ceremonies and as far as we are aware is the only Buddhist venue in the UK. There is an extensive library.

St Nick's, the ancient parish church of Chiswick, is an inclusive church in the Catholic tradition of the Church of England.  Worship has been offered on this site for over 1000 years, although the current building dates largely from the 1880s. The churchyard on the banks of the Thames contains many historic graves, including those of William Hogarth, James Whistler and Italian poet Ugo Foscolo.
